Team Biosbot Colombia
We are a science and robotics team that competes in national and international FIRST LEGO LEAGUE and WRO tournaments. We are currently the national sub-champions in FIRST LEGO LEAGUE in Colombia. Our social responsibility includes girls and boys diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, high-functioning autism, including children who have been victims of bullying, and breaking technological barriers by bringing robotics workshops to disadvantaged areas of Bogota. We would like to invite you to get to know our project that has already been running for 4 years... so that we can continue to bring our work to more children so that they can be part of this great robotics experience!

Mision
To promote, within an inclusive culture, the creativity, research and technological innovation talents of children and adolescents, based on a pedagogical model of learning robot design and programming through technology, engineering and mathematics in a playful way.
Vision
To be a robotics club recognized worldwide for its ability to link children and teenagers from Bogota, diagnosed with autism or Asperger's syndrome, within learning processes and development of robotics technology, forming a group that designs research projects, in a united and competitive way.
What we do ??
Team Biosbot Colombia, are science and robotics teams with a high sense of social responsibility and with a perspective of opportunity and inclusion for children diagnosed with Asperger's or high functioning autism, social opportunities for children who have been affected by bullying, social opportunities to break technological barriers by taking our robotics workshops to disadvantaged areas of Bogota, bringing these innovative technologies to children who have not had the opportunity to have them in their hands. Our social inclusion process is comprehensive, ranging from children with different abilities to children who enjoy science, theater, dance, music, art, mathematics, research, etc. Our inclusion program is to "include" these children with amazing abilities in society, to understand that we all learn from our differences, and to break the paradigms of traditional education that "tells" us that these children should be included in society. We do it in a different way, so that inclusion comes from society to them... . Our Team Biosbot Colombia teams participate in several science and robotics tournaments, including the FIRST LEGO LEAGUE robotics tournament. FIRST is a global organization that promotes and encourages children to learn science, technology, arts and robotics. Its events are held in more than 108 countries and annually bring together more than 950,000 children around the world to participate in its tournaments. Each year, FIRST presents a global challenge for children to propose and develop scientific and innovative projects, as well as a robotics challenge using LEGO EDUCATION kits. In the development and preparation for the FIRST competition, we support our teams with workshops on physical expression, public speaking, developing and implementing science projects, social inclusion, and more. All this, together with the workshops of prorogation and robot mechanics, will allow them to develop scientific projects and robot safiso to be presented in the science and robotics fairs and tournaments that FIRST has for each country. The FIRST tournament, this year in Colombia, took us to occupy the 2nd place at the national level. We got there after going through two qualifying rounds, one, the Bogota Regional with more than 40 teams, and then a National with 40 teams from all over the country that qualified in their respective regions. Last year we were national champions. In 2022 we were national champions
Social Impact
We empower our children through science, technology and innovation to improve their self-esteem, increase their level of frustration and provide tools to improve their social integration process. This is our commitment, this is our social responsibility. We are committed to Allow the participation of all children and teenagers of Bogotá, without any kind of limitation. Provide scenarios for robotics workshops (based on the LEGO ROBOTICS model) to learn about teamwork, design and programming. Promote our inclusion program for children diagnosed with ASPERGER syndrome and high functioning autism.
This is how we did things in the beginning...
"A robot was the beginning of this team and this life project."
One day, the school's technology teacher sees in Felipe Melo Mosquera the ability to learn more quickly and logically what he is teaching him and talks to his parents to consider the possibility of support with private classes and the acquisition of a Lego. mindstorm or EV3. After three years of continuous work, Felipe and his father express to the teacher their interest in sharing these achievements and all this knowledge with other people and then decide to look for the option of doing robotics workshops with Lego or participating in a contest.
This is how SM Robotics was created with a total of 14 students and it was decided to participate in the First Lego League -FLL-. The arduous work of research, training, mission programming and everything that the project entails then begins. Growing as a team and carrying out a true inclusion process. All of this work made Felipe, a boy with Asperger's Syndrome, feel important within a group, have friends, be accepted, and be taken into account and treated individually like any other child.
On the other hand, Felipe's achievement was not only social, his change and personal growth were evident, his self-control and management of frustration surprised in his reactions to situations that previously would easily destabilize him.
With the desire to replicate this beautiful experience, the Team Biosbot Robotics Club (Barriers to Inclusion a Social Opportunity) was formed, which will allow girls, boys and adolescents to be taught that through robotics
